Lake Louise, 12 Feb 2007Mount Snow, March 4, 2007The Trenton Ski Club has a long history of organizing fun, recreational races for members. Members ranging in age from 9 to 70 have participated in the Club's racing program and the Club encourages members to experience the fun of racing with friends and family. Races are run during most club trips. Races typically comprise a dual course—one Blue and one Red—with racers running each course once. Races follow the NASTAR (National Standard Race) format. For more information on NASTAR, visit www.nastar.com . Club sponsored races award Gold, Silver, Bronze and First Time Racer club medals. Gold, Silver and Bronze medals are awarded based on a racer's handicap, which is determined by the racer's age and best time, compared to the Par Time for each course. Par Time is the pacesetter's time divided by the pacesetter's handicap. Race results are posted on the Club's Web site. The first, second and third place lady and men racers in each race receive three, two and one point, respectively. The lady and male racers that accumulate the most points during a season are awarded the Female and Male Racer of the Year Awards at the Club's annual dinner dance at the end of the ski season. Members interested in racing or the Club's racing program should call Anthony Grogan at 609-581-0120. Back |
