THE WAY WE WERE – 1952-2012

The Trenton Ski Club began in 1952, which makes it one of the oldest in the country.

Dick Burton, a young reporter from Rutland, Vermont who had settled in Trenton, wrestled with the difficult adjustment to life away from great northeastern skiing. He spent hours daydreaming of the slopes he left in the north country. One day on his way to lunch, he saw a switchboard operator placing a call to Ten Acres Inn in100 3432 Stowe, VT. What a jolt for his dreaded world!  In hopes of meeting someone who shared his dreams of skiing, Dick lost no time finding out who had placed the call.
